Nano Tracker is a state-of-the-art NBIoT GPS tracker for cyclists. It can detect any type of accident with maximum reliability. In case of an emergency, once the accident has occurred, it will automatically alert your partner, family member, or friend, without the cyclist’s intervention.
The device is fully developed by Cactus. That includes the hardware, firmware, and software design.
The Hardware is based on Nordic’s nRF52840 SoC, supporting Bluetooth Low Energy, Bluetooth mesh, NFC, Thread, and Zigbee.
It includes the ST’s LSM9DS1 Accelerometer, Gyroscope, and Magnetometer that allows the system, using a Machine Learning model, to precisely detect any kind of anomaly regarding the cyclist route. This is a key aspect for achieving a good detection and a fast response, as well as efficient low power consumption. Also, the design includes a GPS that allows precise tracking of the route.
The communication between the device and the cloud is based on Ublox’s SARA R4, which provides NB-IoT connectivity, and an embedded ceramic antenna from Ignion.
All data is sent and stored on AWS, where an ad-hoc microservices-based cloud architecture has been developed and deployed by Cactus.
Using React, a front-end web page has been developed, thus allowing tracking the cyclist’s route as well as other interesting KPI’s.
